The course introduces the key principles and ideas which underpin work with young people, focusing on the age range 13–19 where the aims are to do with informal education. It examines the nature and scope of these practices; the values and purposes which underpin them; the roles and responsibilities of practitioners working in the field; and the practical and ethical issues that they face. The course will actively engage you in taking a reflective stance towards your own practices and those of others, particularly in supporting young people with diverse needs and abilities.
